Sia and her hair journey

My name is Sia and  the only time I remember getting my hair all cut was when I was 6 years old ,im 24 now and my hair has never been past my shoulders. When I mean past my shoulders I mean it been all the same length and going past my shoulders. My back hair grows faster than the rest. As any African woman ive always wanted to have long hair, im sure ive tried everything but I think I can safely say I have learnt new things in the past year and only started taking proper care of it last year and would like to start afresh but im still stuck between continuing with my relaxed hair or going natural again. You see in 2010 after my hair started  breaking a lot I decided to go the natural . After numerous relaxers and dying my hair twice ,my hair became too thin and rather too short for my liking. So I took the decision to not cut it all off but rather to just chop off the relaxed ends of my hair. That’s the pathway to natural I chose, short hair just aint me I just couldn’t imagine walking around bald. My Natural hair journey was awesome with just one major problem being that it was too kinky, like tht overly curly hair(mfushwa) that when u comb there just little curly hair everywhere and it was just the ‘ hard mashona type’. Everytime I washed my hair and needed to go get it plaited I had to straighten it first with a ceramic hair iron so it became more manageable. We will talk about ceramic irons at a later stage, but for now im warning you all against them whether you have natural or relaxed hair. My natural hair journey lasted till September 2011 but the length I attained during that short period was longer than the the length I grew from 1994 until 2009(15 years).

I love hair and constantly changing my hair , i hope you enjoy my blog as i take you through my hair journey and hope you learn from me and give me tips too.
